Excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer to join an ever expanding European Consultancy.

Location: London, hybrid working and flexible hours

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000

Job Description

The Resolute Group is working in partnership with a leading European design and engineering Consultancy.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Structural Engineer to join their building division, focusing on large data centre projects across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take a lead role in designing and detailing civil engineering schemes, with a focus on a wide variety of projects, including large data centers. Ensure that designs meet industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct in-depth feasibility studies to assess project viability and identify potential challenges. Offer recommendations and solutions to address any identified issues.
  • Utilize computer-based analysis tools to perform calculations, modelling, and simulations to verify the structural integrity and stability of designs.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to evaluate existing structures, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with design specifications. Perform structural surveys to assess building and infrastructure conditions.
  • Generate comprehensive reports that document project progress, findings from feasibility studies, inspection results, and recommendations. Effectively communicate findings to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
  • Lead project management efforts to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards. Monitor project progress, allocate resources, and make necessary adjustments to meet project objectives.
  • Collaborate with relevant authorities and agencies to obtain necessary approvals for section agreements, including S104, S38, and S278. Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, other professionals, and the public. Address inquiries, concerns, and provide information on project plans.
  • Supervise and mentor employees with less experience, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge.

Requirements for the role:

  • A degree in Engineering, with Chartered Engineer status or near-chartered status with the Institutions of Civil Engineers.
  • Excellent design skills and proficiency in computer-based structural analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of UK Codes of Practice, Design Standards, Building Regulations, and Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Experience with (S104, S38, S278).
  • Strong communication and prioritization skills to meet various project deadlines.
