We are recruiting for a Senior Technology Design Engineer to join our Highways team in Birmingham or Basingstoke to act as a trusted advisor and advocate to the business in respects to engineering and design solutions, highlighting possible efficiency and innovations to analyse problems and develop workable solutions. Location: Birmingham or Basingstoke - remote working available, with travel other offices and sites.

Contract: Permanent, Fulltime.

Salary: £38k - £45k

Responsibilities

As Senior Technology Design Engineer will contribute, complete and if necessary, manage a full technology design package output in line with client requirements, against defined governance and assurance frameworks, process, and procedures.

Your day to day will include:
  • Lead the development of engineering and design solutions for a wide array of ITS projects to be delivered for several different clients
  • Assist and contribute to the flow of information by attending/conducting regular scheme specific meetings to ensure the project teams are updated on relevant objectives/issues regarding the project
  • Proactively highlight issues at an early stage, allowing Technology Design and Engineering to recommend timely mitigations to facilitate designs that are right first time.
Who are we looking for?

This role of Senior Design Engineer is great for you if:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification within a technology bias engineering discipline e.g. communications, electronic/electrical engineering
  • Industry knowledge, experience and understanding essential; specifically relating to highways technology infrastructure and National Highways
  • Full driving licence and ability to travel / overnight stays when required
