My client, an independent property management agent based in Beckenham, are seeking a Service Charge Manager / Senior Service Charge Accountant to join their team.

Reporting to the Director, you will be managing the service charge processes of a portfolio of 70 blocks in Greater London, Surrey and Kent.

Duties:

  • Manage the accounting as required to ensure all properties are financially compliant in accordance with RICS, TPI and the lease requirements.
  • Provide company secretarial duties as required and legal information as requested by solicitors.
  • Preparation of company accounts and maintenance and reconciliation of ledgers, including VAT and Payroll.
  • Assist the business to implement compliance and company financial policies and procedures.
  • Participate in companywide initiatives both internally and for external clients.
  • Preparation of budgets and liaison with the client to obtain approval in a timely manner
  • Ensure timely issuance of service charge and ground rent demands
  • Manage the portfolio arrears levels and credit control procedures
  • Completion of year end accounting package and liaison with accountant to ensure the timely completion of the service charge and company accounts, as applicable.
  • Ensure all records are maintained in accordance with regulations and best practise Insurance
  • Liaise with brokers to ensure timely receipt of renewal documentation for the portfolio renewal, issue to client and ensure approval received.
  • Maintain the insurance database to ensure all renewals are renewed on a timely basis Company Secretarial
  • Reconciliation of Takeover information as received from previous agents for incoming properties.
  • Set new properties up on Resident System, and Companies House as applicable
  • Manage client information held on Companies House as applicable
  • Maintain property database ensuring leaseholder information is accurate
  • Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients, as required
  • Prepare reporting information for client Board meetings, including AGM's and Directors meetings.
  • Liaise with the Client to arrange regular meetings as dictated by the Memorandum and Articles of the client company.
  • Assist with the administration of the meeting, including issuing of notices, agenda and preparation of minutes.



Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-4 years' service charge accounts experience
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Analytical with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong articulate communication skills
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Hard working with a positive attitude and work ethic



Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm, 1 hour for lunch, WFH and flexible hours after 6 month probation depending on workload
