Our client is seeking an experienced setting out engineer to start at the beginning of January 2019 on a contract that is anticipated to run for 26 weeks.

The project will be based in Dartford, near the Dartford Tunnel but our client is ideally seeking someone located within commutable distance from their head office in Scunthorpe as they will be providing transport to and from site along with accommodation near the site.

The ideal candidates will have a good grounding and experience in civils projects and in particular within petro chemical environments.
As a Setting out Engineer, your duties will include:

* Setting out and surveying of the site.
* Support the Site manager with daily site operations as required.
* Checking plans and drawings.
* Setting out CFA Piles.
* Plan, manage and monitor the construction of works to an acceptable level of quality.
* Under direction, prepare and implement Inspection and Test plans.
* Working with other team son site such as other contractors or subcontractors, ensure safe systems of work are in place, prepared and followed.
* Facilitate and review appropriate training and professional development for yourself together with any employees and subcontractors under your control.
* Ensure all staff are competent and adequately trained in the operation of necessary plant and machinery and understand the processes involved within the workplace.
* Maintain communication and liaison with external stakeholders and ensure that agreed controls and commitments are met.

This position is for a Setting Out Engineer who is driven by attention to detail and quality of output. If you are professionally qualified or working towards a professional qualification this will be highly advantageous to your application as will knowledge or previous experience of working on an airport construction project. If you also hold a SSSTS or SMSTS qualification, this is also preferable to the contractor when considering applications.

To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:

* Degree, Bachelors, MSc or HND in Civil Engineering
* Experience of working in a main contractor environment
* Hold a valid CSCS certification
* Own Equipment is preferred.
