Location - Bedfordshire
Kier Living are looking for a SHE Advisor to join our SHE Team from our Eastern office in Bedfordshire.
Responsibilities include:
- Promote Kier's vision and values to internal and external stakeholders, in particular for Safety, Health & Environment
- Ensure Kier Group remains compliant with all legislation regarding Health Safety and the Environment
- Drive to deliver continual SHE improvements across the Kier Group
- Ensure Kier's SHE procedures are implemented to allow all relevant legislation to be complied with
- Provide support and advice to any part of Kier Group operations on SHE issues and to ensure that the Kier Group SHE policies and any local guidance are fully aligned in order that no conflict or confusion exists
- Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses are correctly reported and support is provided to investigations in accordance with Kier Group SHE policies and procedures
- Ensure all SHE lessons learnt and other High Value Learning Events (HVLEs) are communicated
- Ensure that all SHE reporting requirements are provided accurately and in a timely manner
- Ensure environmental procedures, reporting and required environmental statements are produced and maintained
- Conduct site/project/contract APR visits and ensure that appropriate action plans have been put in place by the accountable operations manager
- Conduct regular reviews on APR corrective action status
- Support internal and external SHE audit requirements
Individual:
- NEBOSH diploma or equivalent (or demonstrable IPD/CPD equivalent) in Occupational Health and Safety
- Working understanding of SHE legislation
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 Standards
- Experience in similar or supporting post
- Methodical & able to follow through, even for small matters
- Good oral and written communicator
- Good training skills and confident in public speaking
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work on own initiative - and deliver key objectives
- Able to work under pressure
- Notices & responds to others' needs
- Ability to positively influence others
- A full UK driving license is essential for this role.
- Experience in the house building market is preferred.
