Kier work as part of a framework for Western Power Distribution to ensure its customers have power in their homes, businesses, schools and hospitals. We are an essential member of the team mainly working on reactive and planned maintenance.
We employ a large number of teams across the region, whose role it is to either respond to emergencies to dig down in the street or on private property to give our client access to repair their asset, or to lay new mains cables as part of their ongoing planned maintenance programme. Our responsibility begins with planning the works and finishes with us clearing site having put it back to the same or better condition than when we arrived, making sure that customers are happy and informed throughout every stage of the works.
We're looking for an enthusiastic SHE Advisor to join the Western Power Distribution contract in Pershore, covering the Gloucester and Worcester region. Your main responsibility will be to ensure Kier's SHE procedures are implemented to allow all relevant legislation to be complied with. You'll also need to provide support and advice to any part of Kier Business Unit operations on SHE issues and also make sure any accidents, incidents or near misses are correctly reported and support is provided to the investigation.
What do we need from you?
We need a NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualified in Occupational Health and Safety individual who is happy to travel throughout the region. You need to have working knowledge of ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 standards and SHE legislation. Experience of working in utilities and to deadlines is highly desirable.
