Responsibilities

As Safety Health and Environment (SHE) Advisor, you will be working within the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality team, assisting in the management and promotion of health, safety, environment and well-being.

Your day to day will include:
  • Developing, driving and championing safety, health and environment campaigns across Suffolk
  • Ensuring full implementation and compliance of the SHEMS (Safety, Health, and Environmental Management system) and supporting staff across the service to utilise the system, providing training when necessary
  • Liaising with the General Manager and operational management team on all occupational health assessments ensuring required adjustments have been made
  • Undertaking site, depot and office health and safety inspections
  • Collaborating with the Kier occupational health team, providing health & wellbeing support for Kier employees across the contract
Who are we looking for?

This role of SHE Advisor is great for you if you can:
  • Provide a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding and working knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and codes of practice
  • Comprehend and interpret policies, procedures and relevant legislation and effectively communicate to a range of stakeholders
