Kier Construction have a great team in the North East region, with a long pipeline of large projects we are looking o appoint a SHE Advisor to join our business in a role that will cover several projects across the area. Within this role, you can enjoy remote working, flexible hours and the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects of all sizes and complexities and even more.

Location: Newcastle

Contract: Permanent, full time, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

As a SHE Advisor, you will be providing safety, health and environmental advice to management and the project teams, ensuring that you take a collaborative approach to ensuring that our safety culture is maintained through ongoing interface with key stakeholders.

Your day to day will include:

  • Advising on all aspects of SHE in improving and maintaining high standards and compliance with Kier Group standards and minimum standards.
  • Carrying out audits and inspections in line with Kier's standards and promote best practice and identify areas of improvement
  • Promoting our Kier Behavioural Safety Programme, advise on the Safe Systems at Work, Construction Phase Plans and Environmental Management Plans, and compile SHE monthly progress reports.


Who are we looking for?

The SHE manager will have demonstrable experience within the construction industry , ideally within a main contractor environment, you will demonstrate sound knowledge of relevant legislation as well as good understanding of construction works

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate as a minimum
  • A membership of a professional body (minimum Tech IOSH)
  • Working knowledge of the environment and sustainability, good IT skills, working knowledge IS0 14001 & 18001
  • Excellent IT and writing skills, able to communicate clearly both orally and in report form.
