This is an exciting opportunity for a Shift Electrician to join Aggregate Industries a leading construction materials and solutions company. You will work at Glensanda quarry on the west coast of Scotland. It is operational 24 hours a day and is the largest granite quarry in Europe. About the role As a shift or electrician, you will be expected and encouraged to work to the very highest safety standards. Performing planned and reactive maintenance will form a large part of your day-to-day duties. You will also be involved in installation projects and carry out various other electrical duties as required. You will join an enthusiastic team of Engineers and Electricians who maintain and develop the electrical systems on site. Elements to the role include: Your day-to-day responsibilities will include both planned and reactive maintenance of fully-automated and electrically-driven machinery such as hydraulics, pneumatics and motors Carry out root-cause PLC fault-finding, repairs and some programming Undertaking electrical work in accordance with UK legislation and Aggregate Industries’ standards, using safe working procedures Complete fault-finding, process improvements and energy reduction, whilst maintaining all diagrams, circuit schedules and other information Maintain all PLC-controlled equipment, including program modifications to suit production needs, and safety-related control systems for machinery Ensure all PPM schedules are carried out in a timely manner Mentoring of apprentices What will you bring? Ability to work as part of a 24hour, 7 days a week operation PLC experience, together with fault-finding and programming is desirable 18th Edition wiring regulations & City & Guild 2382 qualified Good understanding of health and safety Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relations with others Completed mechanical & electrical apprenticeship or equivalent and be qualified NVQ L3 or equivalent in plant maintenance IT-literacy What can we offer you?
