Location: Hendon, NW9

Business Area: Kier Facilities Management - Public Sector contract

Contract & hours: Permanent, full time - 12-hour shift rota 4 days on/off 4 nights on/off basis

  • 4 days (6am to 6pm) worked, with 4 days off then

  • 4 nights (6pm to 6am) worked, with 4 nights off - then back to Days on & repeat

Kier Places are recruiting today for a Shift Handyperson, where your role will be key to supporting the delivery of a Facilities Management Hard Technical Services solution for our prestigious client, where you will be providing planned & reactive maintenance a Government building as part of our prestigious public sector contract.

Key Responsibilities

As a Shift Handyperson with Kier, we will look to you to carry out reactive calls & daily inspections of the site as directed, action any issues arising regarding maintenance defects generated from the helpdesk; to complete all PPMs & update PPM system as required; check M&E systems to ensure building services are functioning correctly; and investigate any alarms and action as necessary.

This will involve completing works such as tap testing, flushing & fixing, legionella tests, pump/compressor fault diagnosis, assessing plant equipment, emergency lighting, fuses, desk management, HVAC, AHU's & compressors maintenance, and other general maintenance works within your abilities such as minor fabric, electric, plumbing & heating repairs.

What do we need from you?

We're on the lookout for someone who has experience, qualifications & certifications for mechanical, electrical, plumbing or building services / maintenance, such as a relevant Level 2 City & Guilds/NVQ, 18th Edition Wiring, L8 Legionella awareness, HVAC/AHU/F-Gas qualifications.

As a bonus, you may also have Working At Height, PASMA, IPAF certification, or have a valid Government Security Check (SC) Clearance.

You should have prior experience within a commercial building or facilities management environment, with the ability to conduct a variety of building & facilities maintenance tasks, including but not limited to: electrics & lighting, water & plumbing, HVAC, AHUs & compressors.

This is a shift position with 12-hours per shift, on a 4 days on/off 4 nights on/off basis. You should also be prepared to go through a Government SC Clearance before working onsite.
