Kier Highways design roads, bridges and intelligent transport systems (ITS), covering strategic and nationally important roads, as well as local roads serving local communities. Our projects range from major improvements to complete renewals of roads and structures. With specialist teams, we manage complex works from conception through to handover at the end of maintenance periods.
Location: Brackley, Northamptonshire
Contract: Permanent, Full time
Salary: up to £40k
Responsibilities
As Site Engineer, you'll be working within the Highways team, supporting them with the technical compliance of the project to the design specification to fulfil the assigned project or section safely, on time and to the required quality.
Your day to day will include:
- Working to and understanding the client needs and expectations, the project strategy and the objectives of the scheme, providing vision and leadership to the scheme on all matters pertaining to quality and promote continuous improvement in everything undertaken and sharing good practice within the project, and Kier Group as a company
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to implementing the Kier management systems (including health, safety, environment and quality) and attainment of the stated targets, provide overall responsibility for implementation and maintaining of safe systems of work in accordance with Kier Highways SHEA policy and procedures, all legal requirements and best practice
- Ensure that adequate monitoring and supervision arrangements are maintained and clearly defined areas of responsibility for contractors are established and implemented
- Implementing and maintaining the scheme management plan (SMP), this shall include the generation of records that show compliance with the SMP and other requirements, such as auditing and surveillance
This role of Site Engineer is great for you if you have:
- A degree or equivalent in a construction related field
- Proficient IT Skills - including some experience of structural assessment and design software
- Demonstrable commercial experience
