Responsibilities



Kier has been appointed by Severn Trent, to design & build the UK's first catchment-scale flood resilience programme. This involves the design and construction of a suite of interventions across Mansfield to improve the flood resilience of the town. The overall aim of the project is to remove 58,000 m3 of surface water run-off from the sewer network by constructing Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS). They work by diverting surface water away from sewers, slowing it down and helping the drains to cope.



As a Site Engineer, you'll be working within the Regional Civils team, supporting the Section Engineer, and carrying out the supervision and engineering support to deliver numerous reservoir projects across the region

Your day to day will include:

  • Assisting in managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity
  • Completing construction records and assist in 'as-built' drawings and schedules and assist in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork etc
  • You'll also assist in the preparation of sketches for distribution on-site, ensuring clear communication channels are in place

    This role of Site Engineer is great for you if:

  • You are an enthusiastic and proactive individual with a relevant qualification, degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering
  • You have previous experience on a major civil engineering scheme in a regulated environment and an ability to work as part of a project team
  • You'll be highly organised and have strong attention to detail
