Introduction:

The role of Site Manager is responsible for supporting the UK Power Networks ED1SON Alliance, comprising UKPN, Amec Foster Wheeler, Morrison Utility Services, Clancy Docwra, and Kier Utilities.

The Alliance is charged with delivering a £1bn programme in the 2016-2023 ED1 regulatory period. Kier Utilities has been appointed to undertake cable and electrical infrastructure projects across the Southern and Eastern Power Networks (SPN & EPN).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Works to support the aspirations and aims of their Project Manager, Kier Utilities and the Alliance
  • Personally, enforces high standards across the board on their site(s) to maintain safe, effective delivery
  • Able to work in mixed collaborative teams to deliver major projects
  • Hold the Principal Contractor responsibility where Kier is appointed under the CDM Regulations
  • Ensuring all procedures are correctly implemented and complied with;
  • Producing and maintaining the works information;
  • Coordinating the activities of everyone on site (e.g. subcontractors, designers, UKPN staff, etc.);
  • Ensuring that reviewed and approved RAMS are in place for all activities being undertaken;
  • Ensuring plant and equipment is inspected and maintained;
  • Ensuring welfare facilities are maintained for the entire duration of the works;
  • Ensuring a training matrix is maintained;
  • Ensuring adequate supervision is in place;
  • Discharging duties as set out in the Construction Phase Plan;
  • Ensuring individuals are inducted;
  • Conducting safety inspections of the site/team;
  • Undertake/Support the investigation of all incidents on their Sites(s)

  • Key Skills and Qualifications:

    • Previous experience within Power/Civils projects
    • Understands the of government regulatory model and drivers governing UKPN
    • SMSTS
    • NRSWA
    • Experience of implementing HSQE and Management procedures & practices
    • Technically conversant with all relevant industry standards, specifications and practices.
