We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the conversion of an animal feed shed into a fully functional cement import facility. This challenging and exciting project will involve the complete strip-out of the existing shed, installation of pneumatic piping for cement transfer, and re-cladding of the building.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all on-site operations, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead the day-to-day management of the conversion, from initial strip-out to completion, ensuring the project runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Supervision: Oversee all aspects of site operations, including the coordination of subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
- Installation: Ensure the correct installation of pneumatic piping systems for cement import in compliance with project specifications.
- Health & Safety: Enforce strict health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Scheduling & Budgeting: Maintain project timelines and budget, managing resources effectively and reporting any deviations to senior management.
- Quality Control: Ensure high standards of workmanship, particularly with the re-cladding of the building and the installation of mechanical systems.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and address any issues that arise during the project, mitigating risks and finding solutions in a timely manner.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Site Manager, preferably with experience in industrial or agricultural building conversions.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of building services, including mechanical installations such as pneumatic systems.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, manage subcontractors, and liaise effectively with stakeholders.
- H&S Compliance: NEBOSH or equivalent Health and Safety qualifications are highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- A relevant construction or engineering qualification (NVQ, HND, or degree).
- SMSTS certification.
- First Aid at Work certification (desirable).
