Location: Project specific opportunity - Basingstoke for 18-24 months during preconstruction phase and moving to Harlow, Essex when transferring to site for a further 24 months.

Introduction:

Kier Strategic Projects is looking to recruit a Planner to join a highly successful team in delivery of a new high containment science facility for Public Health England in Harlow, Essex. The facility is part of the UK's national infrastructure and will be one of the largest, most complex facilities of its type in the country. Designed and Built to the highest standards, the facility will include a range of science and laboratory facilities including CL2, CL3 & CL4 suites and complex M+E and process systems

This project is a key part of the Strategic Projects business portfolio that spans a variety of sectors including commercial, science, healthcare and custodial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of managing the Mock up building.
  • Managing the NEC form of contract for the mock up programme.
  • Develop and maintain the contractors plan in accordance with the contract
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient maintenance of the programme.
  • Communicate programme performance, time and outcomes in a timely way with stakeholders and the Project Managers.
  • Manage and control as built progress programme information.
  • Identify and allocate of resources and monitoring of budget and cost
  • Accountable for implementing and promoting strong programme governance throughout the delivery of the project
  • Understand the constraints, logistics, any site specific requirements
  • Preparation of programme and method information for inclusion in submission document as per the tender deliverables requirement.
  • Assist developing the contract programme into a fully integrated Design, procurement and project programme in co-ordination with the site management team.
  • Develop short term programmes as per the requirements of the team to assist in managing micro elements of the project.
  • Assess the effects of client changes to the contract programme and advice the management if any delay notices/Early warnings are to be raised for extension of time on the project.
  • Use and Manipulate models to support an improved way of working.


Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Holds the relevant qualifications (i.e. minimum of HNC/HND in relevant discipline)
  • Experience in the Construction Industry
  • Experience in navigating around consultants models to develop construction phasing and sequence plans, use of Sketch up to develop your 4d Synchro plan to visualise the programme and create animations in order to bring plan to life.
  • Comprehensive programme delivery experience
  • Demonstrable experience in leadership, resource allocation and general management
  • Experience in risk identification and assessment
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of managing and maintaining a works programme
  • Knowledge of full MS Office suite.
  • Experienced operator of Primavera P6 and Asta Power Project software.
  • Good knowledge of Synchro Pro 4d.
