HRG is currently recruiting for a Skills for life and work Lecturer to teach students with special educational needs and/or disabilities who have severe to moderate learning disabilities and/or difficulties

HRG (Herts Resourcing Group- based onsite at HRC) is working in partnership with Protocol - a leading recruitment agency working with colleges, training providers, end-point assessment organisations and local authorities nationwide.

This is a part time opportunity on an ongoing temporary basis, covering all day Wednesday and Thursday and Friday mornings.

Please note that this is not a remote role.

You will be responsible for delivering life skills across our provision, incorporating key curriculum areas of intent. This will include:

* The development of effective communication skills and increased self-confidence that will lead to improved wellbeing. * The development of independent living skills that our young people need to make a successful transition into adult life.
* The development of vocational/work skills that will form the stepping-stones to employment and/or supported employment.
* Community Inclusion to ensure young people are active and safely engaged in their communities.
* The development of health and wellbeing awareness across our provision, supporting young people to make healthy choices that will result in good health outcomes.

What do we need from you?

  • Degree in a related subject
  • Teacher training qualification such as a PGCE or DTLLS
  • GCSEs C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Assessor and verifier qualification
  • Knowledge of SEND Code of practice
  • Proven experience of teaching adults with Special Educational Need and/or Dissabilities
