Location: Oldham Schools
Business Area: Facilities Management - Oldham Schools contract
Contract & hours: Permanent, full time, 40 hours per week, working hours between 6am-7pm

Kier Places are now recruiting for a Cleaning Manager to join our Oldham Schools Facilities Management team at The Radclyffe School & Failsworth School, Oldham to oversee the management of our cleaning service and line manage the team of cleaners and chargehands across two large high schools.
Key Responsibilities
As a Cleaning Manager with Kier, you will set and manage operational procedures and processes and continuously review them to ensure best practice at all times, ensuring that all operational activities comply with relevant legislation such as the Health and Safety Act and COSHH, whilst ensuring the successful delivery of all client and contractor KPI and SLA targets.
This role will involve the line management of the cleaning team including performance reviews, inductions, absence monitoring, grievance, disciplinary procedures, and implementation of training. The successful candidate will be able to provide effective leadership to ensure the development and encouragement of all operational staff to meet both business and personal objectives. As the Cleaning Manager, you will ensure high levels of customer service and operational standards are maintained at all times. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be required to conduct recruitment interviews to ensure management of any vacancies are filled with suitable staff.
This role also involves the management of the consumable and material budgets as well as the management of the site equipment while ensuring down time is minimised. The successful candidate will be able to optimise the use of available resources to ensure exceptional service and safety is maintained at each site.
What do we need from you?
The ideal Cleaning Manager should have previous cleaning experience and a good all-round understanding of delivering a similar cleaning contract - excellent motivational, people management skills and true leadership skills are necessary in this role to achieve ambitious targets. The ideal candidate will also have strong IT skills, have the ability to multi-task, and have the ability to work well with others and continue to deliver results under pressure.
Due to the nature of this position, you should have a full UK driving licence & be comfortable with flexible working hours between 6am to 7pm as the Cleaners on the contract start/finish between these hours. A BICS qualification is also highly desirable.
