We have an exciting opportunity for a Stores Operative to be the principal point of purchasing and issue of goods for our Torr Works site. About the role As a Stores Operative within Torr Works, you'll be responsible for providing high quality supply chain and logistics services to the quarry. Specifically, you will be responsible for the replenishment, stocktaking and continuous improvement of the store’s facilities. Elements to the role include: Ensure safe custody of parts whilst they are in storage and in doing so ensure that all parts are accounted for Ensure clear and precise labelling with all relevant information is in place Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely fashion Provide assistance for cycle counting, ensuring that stock levels are accurately counted and stock rotation is thoroughly checked Report defects in equipment to a Supervisor / Manager Maintain a review of critical spares and organise the replenishment process as and when required To ensure all procedures are adhered to, in line with the Business framework Ensure a good working relationship is maintained between the quarry, purchasing and procurement Contribute to the preparation and development of safe working methods Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping keeping areas clean, tidy and hazard free Deal with all daily issues professionally and liaise with site management on a regular basis Be responsible for the plant assets that are entrusted to you i.e. materials, plant buildings, and equipment and stores used therein and efficient deployment of them Complete and adhere to all Safety related documentation for activities Carry out other reasonable tasks within the scope of your operation and abilities when required Maintain a strong line of communication with the site teams What will you bring? A highly motivated individual with drive and enthusiasm NVQ Level 2 in Warehouse and Distribution (or willing to work towards) 3 GCSE’s (including Maths and English)/Equivalent level of experience Previous experience in a warehouse/ store’s environment Ability to work to deadlines and use own initiative Ability to identify parts and understand uses Excellent communication and team working skills Ability to plan and support maintenance schedules Good knowledge of maintenance activities and industrial process equipment Good understanding of health and safety IT literacy and ability to work to deadlines Ability to work flexibly What’s on offer?
