Street Works Coordinator

Location: East and West Midlands

Contract: Western Power Distribution


The main role of Streetworks Coordinator is to ensure that all planned works are tracked and progressed with the appropriate levels of authority.

Working closely with the planning you will play a key role in ensuring that works can go ahead in a timely, productive and legal manner. You will be responsible for managing the permits and notices issued by the Client throughout the lifecycle of repair and maintenance site work with a particular focus on ensuring works are completed on time and to a high standard.

Accuracy of inputting data quality into IT systems is an essential part of this role and additionally the ability to adapt and respond to changing circumstances is critical.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage of all types of Street Works Permits and Notices in line with the requirements with NRSWA, Code of Conduct & "Bristol Code"
  • Processing and taking prompt action as required for all incoming Highway Authority Communications.
  • Log and track permit conditions as stipulated by the various HA's
  • Work closely with planning and site teams to ensure works outcomes are delivered in the best possible way
  • Issue of key Streetworks reports and chasing of required information to act on permits and notices requiring attention, particular focus is required at end of day to ensure full compliance
  • Liasion with Highway Authorities to extend & amend permits and notices as required
  • Acting as a gatekeeper to limit Notice durations, ensure Estimated Durations remain accurate and manage notices in jeopardy to eliminate S74 Charges
  • Work with Highway Authorities Streetworks teams to build relationships and foster a good working environment
  • Support Team Leader in investigation of Streetworks matters inc. overruns and errors, and continuous improvement of Streetworks processes
  • Be Punctual and available for work at the agreed times as part of a team to ensure all elements of the process are covered

  • Provide both internal & external customers a professional and customer focussed service
  • Accurate and timely issue of Planned and Immediate Streetworks Permits and Notices
  • Highly organised with ability to prioritise conflicting workloads
  • Good IT skills across the MS Office suite of programmes and bespoke Streetworks tracking tool(Training Provided)
  • Experience of working as part of a team to deliver required outcome.

  • Professional in working pratices and personal standards
  • Is organised, methodical, detailed and curious to learn
