Hours - 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

Location - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
QRS are looking for an enthusiastic Student Engagement Officer, working on a term time only basis of 37 hours per week over 38 weeks.
As the Student Engagement Officer, you will work with all staff within the Student Support team and Directorate to ensure that visibility and promotion of the Students' Union and Student Engagement are clear and well embedded. You will promote and develop Student Activities as well as organise and deliver engaging events for students.
The successful candidate will have the ability to relate to and motivate young people from diverse backgrounds and with diverse educational experiences. You will also have a clear understanding on how outstanding Student Engagement can be achieved. You will need to be qualified to Level 3 in a relevant area such as Youth Work, as well as a Level 2 qualification in English and Math.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following areas:
- Developing a positive and constructive relationship with students to enhance their personal and social education and enable them to fully participate in college activities
- Identify and challenge inappropriate behaviour responding immediately to incidents and disturbances using a range of interventions and de-escalation techniques to ensure a timely resolve
- Being part of the emergency response team, including First Aid, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), Student Searches and Fire Evacuation procedure
- Acting as an advocate for students when required
- Supporting the enrolment and induction process
- Contributing to the ongoing development and monitoring of the Student Involvement Strategy and supporting the election and training of class representatives and the Student Union body
- Developing and promoting a full enrichment programme for students including Wellbeing initiatives across the college and providing reports on engagement activities for the leadership and management team
Normal working hours of 8.30am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday Friday
