Student Support Administrator
The Role
This role will see you work as part of the Student Support Team to deliver a high-quality support service to mature students across their educational establishments. The students are mainly mature and study flexibly online alongside work and family commitments, at diploma, degree, and masters' degree level.
A proactive and inclusive attitude will be key, as you will be in regular contact with individuals throughout their Student Journey, responding to a diverse range of personal and practical problems and experiences that may impact on students' ability to study. Some of the role will be outside normal office hours to enable you to contact students unavailable during the day.
Your target is to work with the tutor team and curriculum leaders in the promotion of a positive, high-quality student experience. This will involve monitoring and reporting on student progression, applying early intervention and risk management strategies, leading to continuously improving retention, attainment, and progression rates.
Requirements
*Knowledge of student support strategies that can be used to overcome difficulties and enhance the Student Journey
*Comprehensive knowledge of ICT including Microsoft Office applications, database applications, Virtual Learning Environments (VLE's)
*Strong understanding and application of Microsoft Excel and spreadsheets
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Patience and ability to identify with the feelings of others
*Ability to produce and maintain accurate records
*Ability to troubleshoot and escalate issues as and when appropriate
*Excellent administrative skills
*Excellent time management skills, including ability to work to deadlines and establish priorities
*Experience of working in a student support service role at FE and/or HE level
*Experience of liaising with external customers and colleagues, such as partner organisations, loan and funding providers
*Experience of providing high quality support, advice, and guidance in a student focused setting
*Experience of working to deadlines and managing priorities
