Job Description As a
Subsidiary Accountant, you will manage financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and transactional processes for subsidiary entities. You'll ensure accuracy, guide performance reviews, support audits, enhance controls, and implement processes that strengthen financial integrity across global operations.

The Qualifications We Seek
5 years of relevant experience
Proven ability to work toward and achieve key goals across multiple priorities while maintaining relationships
Strong communication skills with the ability and willingness to give, accept, and learn from feedback
Excellent skills in transactional accounting and end-of-month processes
Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
Advanced level in Excel
Proven ability to prepare financial statements (profit and loss, balance sheet)
Proven ability to prepare financial performance reports and analyze variances
Flexibility to adapt to new processes and governance requirements
Strong advisory, negotiation, consultation, and influencing skills
Knowledge
Relevant knowledge for role with depth in specialization
Detailed knowledge of accounting concepts and standards
Knowledge of subsidiary entities and consolidation concepts
Knowledge of budget and forecast processes
Experience
Experience in Christian or Corporate Organisations (Desirable)
Experience in For Purpose (NFP) Sector (Desirable)
Experience in building relationships across all levels of an organization
Experience processing journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts
Experience preparing processes and procedures
Experience preparing budgets and forecast models
Experience using Workday, Microsoft GP, and Power BI highly regarded
Qualifications
Qualifications recognized by a Professional Accounting Body in Australia - CPA, CA or CIMA, or working toward (Essential)
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business (Essential)
Your Daily Tasks
Design, develop, and lead key projects aligned with the mission and strategy
Manage tasks and initiatives that enhance departmental outcomes
Contribute positively to team performance, relationships, and culture
Prepare accurate monthly financial statements for subsidiary entities
Approve journal entries and reconcile balances
Ensure adherence to international accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Budgeting & Performance Review
Prepare and coordinate annual budget and forecast processes
Report on monthly financial performance and key metrics
Compliance
Supervise and support external auditors
Prepare local compliance certifications and documentation
Manage local tax compliance and liaise with tax advisors
Transactions
Review and approve payroll
Supervise vendor payments
Calculate and remit program disbursements
Approve bank payments
Monitor cash requirements of subsidiary entities
Prepare monthly cash disbursements
Manage payment gateway providers
Processes
Establish processes and procedures for new and existing subsidiaries
Ensure robust internal controls
Comply with delegation of authorities
Other Responsibilities
