Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda
Breedon are currently seeking a Supervisor based in the aggregates department at Penrhyn Quarry in Bethesda, North Wales.
In the role, you will be responsible for supporting the Aggregates Manager with the safe and efficient management and operation of the aggregates department.
You will support managing production and crushing activities, troubleshooting technical problems, monitoring KPIs and overseeing planning and coordination with other departments. Awareness of the time critical nature of the process and downstream activities.
Responsibilities/Key Tasks:
- Safety will comprise a key element of the role, you might also be required to conduct risk assessments, job method statements and health and safety inspections and to demonstrate leadership in safety.
- An important element of the role will involve administrative duties, from writing reports and updating records to procurement and budget control.
- An ability to plan and organise work in a time efficient fashion is critical.
- The ideal candidate will have background in the extractive industry, be familiar with the extractive and crushing process with a strong focus on safety and interpersonal skills.
Role-Specific Skills/Knowledge:
- Minimum competency level of MPQC level 3 in quarry operations
- IOSH managing safety qualification preferable
- Problem Analysis - Ability in pro-actively identifying problems, seeking pertinent data, recognising important information, and identifying possible causes of problems
- Compliance - Adherence to company policy and/or procedures. Seeks approval from the correct authority for changes.
- Interpersonal Skills -Awareness of other people and environment and own impact on these. Actions indicate a consideration for the feelings and needs of others
- Detail Handling - Tolerance for and ability to handle the details and paperwork associated with the job, Product understanding and testing.
- Planning and Organising - Ability to establish efficiently an appropriate course of action for self and/or others to achieve a goal.
- Work Standards - Sets high, professional work standard consistently.
- Commercial and customer focussed.
