Supervisor Location; Bristol Contract; Bristol Water The Supervisor (depot/office/site based) is responsible for Supervising an area and ensuring affective delivery of operational aspects of the Bristol Water Rehab contract. Ensuring that operations are carried out on time, to specification and within Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines as stated in company and contract documents.
The Supervisor will be responsible for the day to day running and monitoring of the Rehab gangs (both direct and subcontract), site support, grabs and barriers. Helping manage overall performance of the area including, cost, productivity, compliance and levels of service. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all teams are fully productive and have the necessary support and resources to achieve maximum productivity. Communicate daily with the Construction Manager, Designers, Client & back office staff to ensure smooth running of their area.
To also assist and support the Construction Manager to provide a quality, timely and efficient service to the client in line with the client's policies and procedures.
The role will require entering on to a standby rota for the contract and a rota to cover planned weekend work as and when required. This will at the contracts discretion depending on work load.
To closely manage construction activities and technical issues relating to clean water mains installations & rehabilitation.
To co-ordinate, plan and supervise mains rehabilitation and capital mains works covering pipe diameters 63mm - 700mm.
To be conversant with mains rehabilitation techniques including open cut, pipe bursting, directional drilling and slip lining.
Report to and support the Construction Manager on a daily basis to discuss problems and actions required to ensure safe and efficient operation of the works.
To Manage Health and Safety of the workforce on site. (Multiple gangs)
To ensure workforce PPE compliance.
To ensure that the correct paperwork for all sites is in place (risk assessments, method statements, permits, etc.)
Input to weekly project & progress meetings.
Commercial understanding of jobs, quotation value, rates, awareness of NEC contract, early warnings and compensation events. Ensure claims and compensation events are notified accordingly.
To manage the cost & value of teams working under your control
To keep a diary of daily tasks and closely monitor direct and indirect resource records.
To ensure that the workforce is coordinated in the morning in an orderly and timely fashion with Daily Task Briefings undertaken.
To coordinate with the Network Technician and Construction Manager in relation to Network Operational programmes and planned shuts.
To coordinate plant and materials required on site
Aid office admin with regards to queries relating to worksheets and records.
Relay all street work requirements back to the scheduler so that Highways legislation is adhered to. Ensure NRSWA compliance.
Communicate with Clients with regards to work and to give advice.
To attend an input into meetings with the Client, Highways, District Council and general public.
Completion of as-laid and snagging information on a timely basis
To use and understand Kier's Operation and Management systems and compliance with contract KPI's.
To promote Kier Values to the workforce.
To assist with the planning of new jobs and assist the scheduler in his/her role.
Flexibility to undertake other duties as required.
Ensure Kier systems are correctly followed

Affectively reduce service strikes, accidents and incidents through guidance and coaching of respective team members. (Target Zero Incidents) and comprehensive route cause investigation.
Ensure Bristol Water targets are met.

Client LOS Targets maintained and achieved
Ensure compliance with the TMA and Section 74, inclusive of the Bristol Code of Conduct.
Quality of as-laid plans/site records.
Key Skills and Experience
At least 5 years proven experience of working on capital mains works including mains rehabilitation
Good people skills
Ability to work on your own and under pressure
Good telephone manner

Ability to understand numerical and statistical information
EUSR Water Hygiene
Driving Licence
NRSWA Supervisor
Deep Excavation Qualification
Participate on the contract standby rota, Approx 1 week in 4.
