Position: Supply Chain Manager

Location: Dublin 12

Salary: Dependent on Experience

About the Role:

This position provides Procurement leadership to the business and support locally to the senior management team, Operations Managers, Project/Site Managers and/or others as required. This position will assume control of all operational procurement activities and main POC for suppliers and Projects team within this area.

Responsibilities:

  • Procurement of all supplies and materials for operations.
  • Processes Quotations and purchase orders for the operation of our business, create purchase orders for subcontractors and obtain best pricing and develop strategic pricing and rebate schemes with suppliers.
  • Attends weekly planning sessions; updates operations department on all procurement policies including pricelists, end of life materials, stock holding, long lead items and bulk purchasing.
  • Main point of contact with Convergint approved suppliers.
  • To monitor trends and patterns on buying and provide forecast on Material requirements.
  • Assist with restocking charges or obtaining credits for unwanted/unused supplies and goods.
  • Manage supplier performance and escalate issues as applicable.
  • Arrange timely delivery of materials in line with project deadlines working with project teams.
  • Establish and maintain supplier records and build relationships for preferential terms of business.
  • Regular meetings with sales reps and visiting suppliers.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required, Including support for other regions around procurement and supplies.
  • Responsible for managing the stock control team and ensuring that their KPI's are achieved.
  • You will also be responsible for ensuring that all health and safety standards and requirements are maintained.
  • Management and driving of stores personnel and stores organization.

Requirements:

  • Strong telephone and personal customer service skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Solid Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word skills
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Solid verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Solid ability to facilitate a collaborative working environment for customers and team members
  • Leaving Cert or higher
  • Third level qualification in related field preferred but not essential
  • Previous Procurement and supplier relationship experience of min 5 years preferred
  • Previous experience in Supplier evaluation and best practices in buying
  • Qualification in Lean six sigma is an advantage but not essential.
