The team are part way through a multi-year transformation to be a Procurement Centre of Excellence and we're now recruiting for a Sustainable Procurement Manager to champion our Sustainable Procurement agenda across the business.

Location: Flexible with hybrid travel to Rushden, Northamptonshire
Business Unit: Kier Group Services
Contract: Full-Time, permanent and able to consider part-time opportunities

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Sustainable Procurement & Indirects, in this Sustainable Procurement Manager role, you will seek to enhance the value of Sustainable Procurement across the function and promote Sustainable Procurement best practice. You will drive continuous improvement by monitoring and regularly reviewing our Sustainable Procurement strategy to ensure successful delivery alongside the Building for a Sustainable World Framework. This role will also involve acting as the key ambassador for our Centralised Group Procurement Function, ensuring our key message, content and deliverables are communicated to our supply chain partners and key stakeholders via our Group Marcomms Team. You will seek to enhance the value across the Procurement lifecycle, upskilling our Group Procurement Team to identify the risks and opportunities and ensure Group Procurement processes and policies are adopted by the team.

What are we looking for?

An adaptable, proactive and forward-thinking individual with a passion for Sustainability. We're looking for previous experience within carbon, waste or nature and proven ability of managing strategic stakeholder and supplier relationships and understanding of Procurement processes related to Category Management and Buying. You'll understand the supply chain risks and opportunities, primarily focused around the Environmental and Social impacts and be an advocate for positive change with the ability to influence others and add value to our Group Sustainable Procurement strategy. Familiarity with materials and trades used across the industries is desirable.
