Protocol is working on behalf of an established College in North Hertfordshire to recruit for a Teacher Trainer on an ongoing temporary basis (potentially temp to perm) from November.
This role is offering approximately 15 hours per week. Teaching hours will be 10 per week at the following days/times:
Mondays 1 - 6pm
Tuesdays 1 - 6pm
Additional 2 hours per week for marking. Observations are ad hoc dependent on teacher timetable. Estimated 2 observations per trainee at 1.5 hours per observation (1 hour observation, 30 minutes feedback and coaching) - roughly equates to an extra 3 hours per week.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead, deliver and assess on our Level 5 teacher education programmes to internal and external audiences
Carry out observations on our Level 5 teacher education programmes for internal and external candidates
Support recruitment of internal and external participants to our teacher education programmes
Provide group and one-to-one coaching support to teachers
Person Specification:
Experience of delivering high quality teacher training or teacher development in an FE or school setting
A relevant teaching qualification (minimum of Level 5)
A degree and/or professional qualification in a relevant subject area
Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy and experience of using IT applications
A strong track record of good or better teaching and learning delivery, whilst achieving high levels of student success and progress
Experience of curriculum, course design and assessment that meets awarding body requirements
Strong experience in assessment processes and the use of assessment to support improvement
Up to date knowledge of safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety and child protection legislation, as it impacts on learning
Well-developed organisational, communication and teamwork skills
