This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced chartered engineer to oversee a range of highways schemes from conception and value management through feasibility study and detailed design to construction whilst ensuring that time and budgetary allocations are managed. To take a lead role in the technical checking and approval of scheme designs against Kier and Highways England Design standards, these will include delivery of schemes via our Highways England Area Team contracts and via the Kier / Highway England Regional Delivery Partnership Major Projects Team. All schemes contribute to the overall delivery of the workload within Kier Design Services based at Salford Quays.
This role will involve engagement with the Kier Highways Area teams, Construction Management, Design Services Technology team, Temporary Works, BIM Manager, Quality Manager along with commercial leads. It will also provide mentor / SCE / DE duties to early career staff when required.
What do we need from you to be successful in this role?
A Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status with project management ability. Knowledge of design process and design standards costs and outputs to advise designer accordingly. Construction methodology knowledge would be advantageous. Great communicator who understands key legislation especially CDM Regulations and a working knowledge of Delivery of scheme using civils 3D.
