Administration Assistant - Potable Water Developer Services

Location: Exeter - Estuary House, The Peninsula Park, Rydon Lane

Business Area: Kier Utilities - South West Water

Permanent Full time

Kier and its partnership with South West Water are passionate about providing an exceptional service to customers. Under the Network Services Alliance (NSA) Framework we deliver reactive repair and maintenance services and planned works across the regions in the South West. We help to provide high quality drinking and waste water service throughout Cornwall, Devon, Bournemouth and small parts of Somerset.

About the Role

We have an opportunity for an 'Administration Assistant' to work as part of the Planned Works Delivery Team (Developer Services) within the NSA, specifically on clean water related projects.

In this fast paced role you will act as a focal point for the team, collating, reviewing and logging of site and office records, updating databases, tracking progress, and undertaking multiple administrative duties.

Organisation will be key, as you will be required to manage incoming records from site, such as as-laid drawings, water main-laying track sheets, pressure testing and chlorination records, timesheets for wage returns, plant, safety and holiday records, meeting minutes, e-mail correspondence and numerous other quality and record based documents.

Attention to detail is paramount as you will be required to review and interpret site records and transfer information to the contract databases and relevant electronic record sheets. Maintaining of registers, logs and trackers is a key duty, with regular reporting and progress updates required to ensure monthly performance targets are met.

The role will involve constant interaction with the Kier's management (also located in Estuary House), and operational staff, client staff, developers and third-party stakeholders. Excellent customer engagement and a proactive problem-solving mindset is essential, with good telephony skills to manage customer calls to the office.

You will be required to provide direct admin support to the planners, designers, as well as the commercial and operational teams, and cover for absence as and when required within the team.

What do we need from you?

You must be able to demonstrate a good standard of IT skills, be proficient in the use of MS Office (specifically Word and Excel) and be proficient with e-mails (Outlook). You will be expected to have the ability to pick up and learn new data bases.

A very good level of numeracy and accuracy is essential in relation to data and record transfer.

Experience in customer service would be preferred but not essential.

Due to the nature of this role a full UK driving licence is required.

Bring your talent and ambition to Kier and you will be given the scope and opportunity to invest in your own future, to build your expertise and contribute to a rich and diverse culture.

In return we will give you a competitive reward and benefits package including:

  • Competitive salary
  • Matched pension scheme up to 7.5%
  • Free Life Assurance
  • 26 days annual leave (with the opportunity to buy or sell holiday)
  • Access to a range of attractive flexible benefit options to tailor your package to suit your lifestyles
  • Two employee Share Scheme options
  • Flexible and Agile working (dependent on your role)
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Access to Kier Rewards, our exclusive Discount Shopping Site with deals available at over 800 retailers

This includes taking up your references, as well as checking your ID, driving licence (if appropriate) and your right to work in the UK. Some roles may also be subject to further pre-employment checks.
