Technical Designer job in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Our client is an award winning 5-star house builder has a new Technical Designer job available! The role would see you working as part of the in house technical team.
This housebuilder currently employs over 700 people operating across 4 offices.
As part of the technical team as a Technical Designer you will provide individual design detailing support on projects.
Role & Responsibilities
- Work on the production of technical detailing drawings
- Follow agreed BIM protocols and project filling system
- Direct Junior team members as required
- Manage multiple projects
- Carry out regular and detailed design audits
- Coordinate with external consultants to ensure all necessary supporting information is provided
- Audit individual externally prepared projects through Working Drawing Stages (alongside external development partners where required) to achieve Sales Team requirements, meet required design and specification levels, and comply with the intent of the agreed contract drawings.
- Prepare employers requirements
- Liaise with external and internal teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- Architectural /Building based degree
- Experience working on UK residential projects
- Good construction knowledge and understanding of building regulations
- Knowledge of BIM and experience in using Revit are essential
- Ability to lead a team and a lead role in projects
- Experience in coordination of consultants and design team members through the construction process.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Photoshop and InDesign.
