Introduction:
Kier is looking for a Technical and QA Manager to join a highly successful team in delivery of a large scale (£250m+) project at Wellingborough. As part of a forward thinking unit, this project will be delivered in a collaborative environment, adopting DfMA solutions & strong digital agenda.
This project is a key part of the Major Projects business portfolio that spans a variety of sectors including commercial, science, healthcare and custodial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and submission of Contract pre-start technical & QA documentation.
- Attendance at Contract Pre-start meetings
- Produce policies and procedures to maximize efficiency but minimize financial exposure to the business on all issues technical and QA related
- Foster good working relationships with Internal & External customers to effectively contribute to the success of the contracts in a cost effective way
- In conjunction with commercial function provide input to budget and forecasts where technical/QA costs are to be considered
- Support operational activities to ensure that key business targets & KPI's are achieved.
- Identify & consult with Operational Management to resolve technical issues that may impact on cost.
- Understanding of relevant legislation and policies
- Experienced in QA management and administration
- Working knowledge of compliance and audit methodologies
- Experience in a similar role with similar technical and operational competencies
- Ability to handle conflict professionally and with authority using well developed people skills to avoid unnecessary escalation
- Ability to identify areas of continuous improvement
- Ability to influence the behaviours of colleagues
- Good communicator
- Ability to embrace and support a change process
