My client is a Commercial Fit Out Contractor looking for a Technical Services Manager, office based in Central London.
You will have the important role of overseeing the services design, installation, and commissioning of technical services to meet the project's programme to the highest standards of workmanship and quality, ensuring that all systems are operating at the intended design to ensure client expectations are met.
Responsibilities
- Oversee services design, installation, and commissioning to meet project time lines while upholding the highest standards of workmanship and quality.
- Ensure all systems operate according to the intended design, fostering client satisfaction and meeting expectations.
- Play a crucial role in the tender process by reviewing all tender documents, participating in site visits, engaging with consultants, and crafting project-specific tender submissions.
- Identify angles or advantages in allocated tenders and maximise added value.
- Maintain ongoing dialogue with Project Managers, establishing time allocation and priorities collaboratively across all projects.
- Collaborate with Project Managers in producing/reviewing construction programs, ensuring adequate time for commissioning and achieving key milestones.
- Coordinate with sub-contractors to prepare procurement schedules and technical submittal registers for MEP plant/components.
- Chair M&E/Design Coordination meetings, attend Client Progress meetings, and proactively prepare Building Services dashboards, including progress reviews.
- Assist in creating commissioning and witnessing schedules.
- Educate the Project Management team on building services methodology and procedures, staying informed about build activity through project attendance at sub-contractor meetings.
- Review all MEP-related correspondence and offer guidance to Project Managers in preparing responses.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager in snagging and close-out processes.
- Review the quality/content of services information for inclusion in O&M Manuals, conducting a final review for compliance.
- Manage the preparation of Project Asset Registers, highlighting required maintenance for client issuance.
- Stay informed about major environmental or legislative changes in the services industry and share relevant information with the construction team.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures that relate to anti-bribery, quality, environment and health and safety
Skills/Experience Required
- Experience in delivering complex services fit out schemes more than £5m
- Minimum 5 years' experience with top 10 contractor - preferable
- Good knowledge of all M&E systems used within the office design and build fit out industry
- Able to effectively monitor sub-contractors
- Have excellent communication - both oral and written
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead / work as part of a team and used to working to own initiative
