Technical Supervisor
Breedon are currently seeking a Technical Supervisor to join our team in the Central and South West Scotland Region. As part of the Technical Team, reporting to the Technical Manager, the Technical Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring asphalt, aggregates and concrete products meet specification and performance requirements.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:-
- Day to day running of the operational technical staff to ensure Quality Control testing for Aggregates, Asphalt and Concrete is carried out according to specification requirements and to ensure a high level of compliance is achieved
- Reporting on aggregate, asphalt and concrete quality and where issues are identified, agree and implement corrective actions in association with the production department
- Monitoring concrete conformity performance, optimising mix designs for minimum production cost and maximum internal aggregate used and monitoring new concrete additive products on the market
- Dealing with customer complaints with sales staff
- Monitor sales and contracting contracts to identify high risk areas and ensure they are monitored and controlled
- Monitoring specifications for any changes and highlighting these changes where there is a commercial, production or technical implication
- Responsible for adhering to and ensuring self and others follow health & safety and environmental compliance with Company rules and expectations, as well as any legal obligations
- Ensure focused, proactive communication of any potential near miss/hazards within the work area to the Company's Health, Safety and Environmental Department and Line Management.
This is an interesting role for the right individual with experience working in this field.
You will have a flexible, proactive and 'hands-on' approach to work with effective communication, problem solving and IT skills. You will be involved with customers and colleagues at every level in the business and therefore you should be able to work confidently and courteously within the team and on your own initiative.
