The Role - Technical Support Engineer

Due to an internal promotion and an increase in business, my client are looking to recruit two Technical Support Engineers based in Wiltshire. The purpose of these positions is to provide technical support to the general public, engineers and installers for products that are both in and out of warranty.

Responsibilities

Taking calls from engineers or installers on site for in warranty products, offering technical support and diagnosing faults whilst the engineer is on site

Issue jobs for products covered by the manufacturer's warranty to either the engineer on site for customer services to allocate

Dealing with customer/installer complaints, offer solutions and make decisions, dealing with the issue as diplomatically as possible

Logging calls onto the database by leaving notes for every conversation that takes place with the end users, installers and engineers

Answer technical related questions via email

Monitoring fault trends

The Right Person

The successful Technical Support Engineer will have previous experience in this kind of role, you will have been involved in telephone support in a technical capacity or you may be an engineer looking to move into more of an office based position.
