We're looking for a Technology Engineer to join our Transportation team to take responsibility for delivering installation, commissioning, site acceptance testing and maintenance activities on technologies located on the strategic road network such as CCTV, Emergency Telephones and Message Signs. The technology engineer role is a standard 5-day week with call out to attend faults outside normal working hours on a rota basis. Within this role, you can enjoy 26 days annual leave with the option to buy/sell, company car or car allowance, 24/7 digital GP service and even more.

Location: Nationwide - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required

Contract: Permanent Fulltime - flexible and part-time hours available if desired, just let us know

Salary: £competitive + £4.5k car allowance + benefits



Responsibilities

As a Technology Engineer, you'll be working as a key member of the Kier Self Delivery Technology Team across a number of schemes and maintenance contracts

Your day to day will include:

  • Responsible for Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities.
  • Undertake electrical and electronic diagnostic checks on highways technology assets in line with reactive maintenance. Fault Response to Urgent Faults and Emergency Incidents
  • Ensuring that all work is carried out to current electrical and Highway Communications standards
  • Preparation of reports and documents as necessary
  • Collaborate with key supply chain partners, other areas of Kier and with our client to deliver exceptional service levels.




  • What are we looking for?

    This role of Technology Engineer is great for you if have:

  • Experience working as a highways technology maintenance engineer
  • Understanding of National Highways technology systems including TPMS, COBS and its subsystems, display equipment, CCTV, digital storage devices and motorway communications
  • Knowledge and application of current technologies, standards and best practice relating to National Highways Motorway and trunk road communications systems.
  • Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
  • Vocational qualification in technology related discipline to satisfy sector scheme requirements
  • HERS Sector 8 training relevant to role
