We are seeking an experienced Freelance Tender Planner to support bid and tender processes for major civil engineering projects across the UK. You will play a key role in ensuring that project programmes are accurate, commercially robust, and contractually compliant.
The Role
As a Freelance Tender Planner, you will develop and review project schedules during the pre-construction phase. You will work closely with commercial and project teams to produce realistic and achievable programmes that strengthen bid submissions and tender evaluations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare tender programmes for major heavy civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
Use Primavera P6 to develop clear, realistic, and commercially compliant project schedules.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure bid programmes reflect construction methodology, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
Assess feasibility, phasing, and sequencing of proposed works for tenders.
Provide programme-related insights to support bid strategy and highlight potential risks or opportunities.
Ensure tender programmes comply with NEC or other relevant contract requirements.
Contribute to bid documentation, presentations, and client submissions.
Maintain accurate records of tender schedules and updates.
About You
Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience in planning, scheduling, or project controls for heavy civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and understanding of NEC or similar contract planning requirements.
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project phasing, and resource planning.
Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and manage multiple tender programmes simultaneously.
