An exciting opportunity has arisen to manage the Breedon Cement import terminal In Leith Scotland.
The Terminal imports Cement from Europe in bulk cargo ships, which is discharged into a flat store and then distributed via road thereafter. As the manager of the terminal you will have day to day responsibility for the safe management of all terminal activity, which includes but not limited to the following:
- Overall satisfactory operation and delivery of receipt and dispatch of Cement products to and from the terminal.
 - The Health, Safety & Wellbeing of all employees, and visitors to site.
 - Supervision of all terminal employees and all associated duties that come in associate with that such as recruitment, performance reviews, training and development, etc.
 - Management of contract hauliers whilst on site.
 - Day to day maintenance of the terminal equipment.
 - Supervision of maintenance contractors both electrical and mechanical.
 - Management of stocks to coincide with ship import cargo.
 - Provide hand on support as required.
 
The Candidate
- Due to the nature of this role, you will need to be flexible in your working hours due to the unsociable hours required when discharging ships.
 - You should have previous proven experience in a supervisory and/or management role.
 - Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills verbally and written.
 - Experience in managing results, KPIs and budgets.
 - Have a good understanding and application of Health and Safety guidelines and regulations, including a NEBOSH Qualification.
 - Ideally be from an engineering background and have a general mechanical/electrical understanding of fixed plant and machinery also be able to identify faults and report accordingly.
 - Loading shovel qualification is an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given.
 - Previous experience in similar heavy industry and/or ship dispatching is ideal but not essential.
