The role:
:: Key role in managing the work and performance of the Design Office
:: Responsibilities: customer service, budgetary compliance, quality (including technical compliance with regulatory and other relevant standards), continuous improvement, programme adherence and resource management.
:: Provide leadership to their team of Design Technicians by planning and delegating workload, creating training and development opportunities for the team in line with divisional plans, leading change and continuous improvement
:: Supporting internal and external customers
:: Use management information and key performance indicators to monitor performance
Requirements:
:: Experienced in timber frame design, engineering and timber frame buildings.
:: Good understanding of product design processes using CAD applications and industry bespoke design software
:: Good understanding of timber frame manufacturing and on-site erection processes
:: Can fluently use IT for a variety of office functions
:: Has an ability to plan and apply logic
:: Confident and fluent leader with strong influencing skills
:: Comfortable with detail and complex situations, can evaluate a situation or process and contribute to or create outright solutions
:: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Can use business metrics to develop and support performance
:: Understands process and how to apply it, relying on a high level of rigour and adherence to robust core processes
