We seek skilled hsbCAD professionals, with a strong knowledge of timber frame, light steel frame / light gauge steel (LSF / LGSF), SIPS or CLT construction to join this motivated and well cultured team.

The company has a unique, flexible and innovative offsite manufactured panelised system, and is set for rapid growth and expansion given the 100% success rate in tendering and strong interest from tier 1 builders. Although relatively new their system is certified and approved, and has high performance values for all key metrics. They are aiming at a broad range of commercial markets with this as a whole building structure solution.

Reporting directly to the Design Manager you will be responsible for creating detailed and accurate hsbCAD models, shop drawings, cutting lists, CNC exports from Architectural and Structural Drawings

We're keen to hear from you if you have the following qualities and experience:

  • Expert hands on hsbCAD Designer - this is highly desirable and candidates with this experience will be given priority
  • Experience in setting Up New Elements, Connections, Company Folders, Shop & Site Drawings, Editing TSL's & DSP's, Database & Model Map Exports, CAM Integration, CNC pre-processing & Creating Schedules
  • ONC / HNC qualified (Architectural, Structural Engineering, Timber Processing or related)
  • Ability to interpret and comply with relevant standards (no prior Australian specific knowledge required though ability to pick up new technical standards is critical)
  • Excellent communication skills (client and design consultant facing)


Full assistance will be given towards visa processing, relocation and flights. Whilst living expenses in Australia are currently a little higher than the UK the salaries are considerably higher. Whilst salary shouldn't be your primary motivator, you can expect to achieve very attractive remuneration. Working in Western Australia won't suit everyone but if you like the idea of being able to finish (most days) in time to go to the beach, this could be your ideal.
