Kier ­Local Highways is looking to recruit a Timekeeper to join the Lincolnshire Council highways maintenance contract.

Kier Highways design roads, bridges and intelligent transport systems (ITS), covering strategic and nationally important roads, as well as local roads serving local communities. Our projects range from major improvements to complete renewals of roads and structures. With specialist teams, we manage complex works from conception through to handover at the end of maintenance periods.


Job Purpose:
  • To accurately record and maintain timesheet information in Oracle to facilitate the correct payment to the operatives and correct cost distribution to the contract. Deal in a timely manner with payroll queries and collate the timesheets alphabetically to allow others to view the sheets if necessary. To maintain the data relating to sickness absence and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Input hours directly from timesheets onto Oracle Time System.
  • Collate and maintain absence records and forward a monthly report to HR Advisor and Senior Managers.
  • Liaise with Employees / Payroll / Cost and Values Manager / Commercial Manager/ QS's dealing with payroll and cost queries.
  • Cross checking timesheets with terms and conditions and cost coding to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Email Staff timesheets out mid-month and check and chase before month end.
  • Generate the internal journal to reallocate the payroll costs across the contract. Process through Causeway.
  • To implement and comply with Kier SHE policy and procedures, all legal requirements and best practice that align with Contract activities.
  • To implement and comply with Kier Group's policies and procedures for functional governance.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:
  • NVQ Business Admin or equivalent or extensive experience in an Administration / Secretarial role
  • Competent IT skills
  • Team Player
  • Methodical, conscientious and organized
  • Use own initiative
  • Good communicator both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work unsupervised and under pressure
  • Self-motivated

Desirable:
  • Knowledge of Oracle
  • Payroll Experience
  • Knowledge of Terms and Conditions
  • Flexible in hours of work
