Job Purpose:
Due to continued growth and success, our client has a position available for a trainer/assessor in the construction sector, with a background in any of the above trade areas. The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and delivering innovative programmes of learning, and supporting learners to develop their knowledge and practical skills so that they can demonstrate industry-standard competence.
Planning for programme delivery and producing schemes of work and lesson plans
Delivering underpinning knowledge and practical skill sessions to learners in classroom and specialist training environments using a variety of methods and resources
Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning activities to develop and improve the learner experience
Negotiate, agree and carry out assessment using different assessment methods and evidence types with groups and individuals.
Essential:
Experience within a range of construction trades
Good literacy and numeracy skills and excellent communication skills
Up-to-date industry skills and evidence of continuous professional development
Willingness to take responsibility and make objective decisions
Ability to work independently, organised, have good time management and administrative skills
Applicant must be willing to travel, have their own car and possess a full, valid driving licence.
TAQA qualifications or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
Good communication skills with the ability to interact with staff at all levels, employer representatives and apprentices.
A willingness to take responsibility and make objective decisions.
The ability to work independently, be highly organised with good time management and administrative skills.
Computer literate, in particular Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
