We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Assistant Quarry Manager to assist our Quarry Management Team in all aspects of site management and leadership at our Greystone Quarry in Launceston. This is a fantastic opportunity for somone looking to start their management career in the Quarrying industry. About the role Delivering support to the Quarry Management team, your remit is to assist with the safe and effective running of all quarry operations whilst undertaking a training program to enhance your knowledge and skill base. No prior experience is necessary for this role however; drive, enthusiasm, flexibility and academic ability are all required. The aim of this program is to develop individuals to become Quarry Managers and ultimately the future leaders of our business. Elements to the role include: Be flexible and willing to move sites within the local area to gain a wider understanding of the different types of minerals and products we produce Participate in on site training in terms of the practical application of mineral extraction and processing techniques Learn to operate Heavy Mobile Equipment in the form of tractors, dump trucks and loading shovels Learn to operate fixed processing plants in the form of crushers, screens and conveyors To join the Institute of Quarrying and participate in Continued Professional Development (CPD) You will be enrolled in the University of Derby Diploma in Mineral Extractives Studies in order to provide the foundation knowledge required for career progression To carry out your day to day activities in accordance with the business code of conduct Carry out any other reasonable tasks within the scope of your operation and abilities as and when required What will you bring? Self-motivated, with initiative and a proactive approach Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relations with others Detail and results orientated with strong personal values to lead by example Be able to plan and prioritise effectively An adaptable and motivated team member Flexible in terms of work location around the Plymouth area Driving licence essential No experience required What’s on offer?
