Trainee Drill Rig Operator

Breedon Group plc are currently seeking a Trainee Drill Rig Operator based at our Penrhyn Quarry in Bethesda, North Wales. This is a full time position which will initially be for a three month probationary period with a view to being made permanent.
Reporting to the Quarry Manager/Assistant Quarry Manager, following full training, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the drill rig, keeping to the planned drilling schedule. The Drill Operator will also be responsible for providing daily reports of drilling operation efficiencies etc.
It is anticipated that the drill will only be required for circa 14 days per month. You may also be asked to carry our several other duties within your capabilities. There will also be opportunities to be trained on other mobile plant.
You will possess the following skills, qualities and experience:
- Be reasonably fit, and have a "can do" attitude
- Be able to work unsupervised, pay attention to detail, and prepared to fill out daily reports on operational efficiency on a daily basis
- Be flexible in terms of working hours, which may need to be changed at short notice to suit operational needs - this may include shift work
- Previous drilling experience would be an advantage, but not necessity as full training will be given to the right candidate
