We currently have a vacancy for a Training Centre Team Leader for our in-house Training Centre based at our Bilsthorpe Depot. The purpose of this role is to lead the day to day operational running of the training centre including the management of a team of training coordinators and specialist trainers to provide industry specific training in line with both internal and external demand in a cost-effective manner. The training centre is currently going through a period of growth to become a first-class training facility and the partner of choice for highways training in the Midlands. You’ll be actively encouraged to bring ideas to develop the training centre, its products and services, and you’ll be empowered and given the freedom to implement them to flourish into commercial reality.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide day to day management of the training centre team – including training centre coordinators and technical trainers.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships with external clients.
To effectively control spend of allocated budgets maintaining and working within financial requirements of the allocated budget.
Ensure the Training Centre is compliant with the requirements of accrediting bodies; to include SQA, City & Guilds, Ofsted etc and lead on audit activity as required.
To be responsible for planning and co-ordinating the deployment of staff and resources to meet the needs of internal and external demand.
Responsible for the development and delivery of identified apprenticeship programmes.
Contribute to the business planning and strategy for the training centre, by promoting new initiatives and identifying opportunities for growth within the Highways and Construction industry.
Experience
Proven experience of leading a team to achieve results.
Knowledge of training courses within the highway and construction industry.
Experience in a training organisation providing highways, transport, or construction and maintenance services including: controlling and developing training programmes, managing operational budgets, and customers, accrediting bodies within the industry.
Knowledge of current quality management, business planning and performance management systems and procedures.
Ability to effectively lead a team, providing motivation for staff to deliver high performance.
Proactive approach to anticipate customer needs to provide excellent service and continually strive to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Demonstrate the ability to prioritise effectively to meet deadlines, and to plan and control projects.
Essential
Occupational experience of working in the highways or highways electrical, utilities or construction industries
A1 Assessors Award
Previous experience of assessing and operating IQA systems
Experience of dealing with awarding bodies
Developing lesson plans and schemes of works
Desirable
V1 Internal Verification
L3 AET or PTTLS
Health and Safety Experience (NVQ, NEBOSH or IOSH)
Highways or Construction qualifications e.g. NRSWA qualified, SMSTS, SSSTS, LGV, Winter Maintenance, First Aid
Experience of dealing with OFSTED / ESFA
Understanding of Safeguarding

Use of LMS
