We are actively seeking an Transport Manager to join our Liverpool branch! Hours: 40 hours per week About You We are looking for an individual who has good communication and can be hands on with problem solving. We take pride in working together as a team, which enables us to ensure that our container fleet is maintained to the best quality for our values customer. You will have experience of the hire industry; however, this is not essential! We will provide training. General administration experience Excellent telephone manner Good computer skills Communicates in a clear concise and professional manner High attention to detail CPC is desirable Valid driving licence Previous management experience is preferred Able to work in a team and encourage a supportive family atmosphere Passionate about providing the best customer service Always maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude Be honest and open with both customers and colleagues at all times Demonstrates a strong work ethic, focussing on personal achievement and results About the Role As an Transport Manager, you will have a direct reporting to our Branch Managers and you will be working closely with our dispatchers. You will be responsible for organising and planning transport and staff, to ensure our fleet gets to our valued customers. You will have a hands-on approach with good communication and problem solving skills, you will also have high attention to detail and strong administration skills. You will manage drivers and maintenance checks daily and follow up on any accident reports. To oversee operations at the branch Approve transport related PO’s To manage and supervise the Dispatcher with the day to day running of the transport. Customer liaison Problem solving Site Assessments as and when required Reinforce training and support new staff Takes personal ownership for overcoming issues and resolving problems Ensures that any problems or issues and the status of ongoing projects or tasks are regularly communicated to their manager Continually looks for opportunities to improve processes and procedures to benefit our customers and the company. Supervision of Drivers Generate work orders, damages, repairs and vehicle accidents per company policy Knowledge of all of the company computer systems Must ensure vehicle roadworthiness is maintained via routine maintenance, vehicle checks & defect rectification (liaison with repair agents and drivers will be essential). Must ensure adherence to driver’s hours and working time directive by effective route scheduling and driver management. Must ensure adherence to all other applicable legislation including road traffic act and operator licensing regulations etc. The above list is not exhaustive and you may be required to carry out additional duties from time to time to meet the needs of the business.
