Gleesons has been exclusively partnered with a FMCG Transport business looking for a Transport Manager.

Job Title : Transport Manager (B2C)

Location: Nuneaton

This Opportunity will best suit an experienced individual who has a background in planning, staff management and dealing with operational & Transport needs.

  • Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimise efficiency, reduce costs, and meet business objectives.

  • Oversee the maintenance, scheduling, and utilisation of the company's fleet, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.

  • Plan and optimise transportation routes to minimise delivery time and fuel consumption while considering traffic conditions and safety.

  • Manage the transportation budget, monitor expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

  • Ensure compliance with transportation laws, regulations, and permits to maintain legal and safe operations.

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the performance of the transportation team and implement improvements as needed.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with transportation vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring service quality.

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of drivers and transportation staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

  • Promote a strong safety culture, conduct training programs, and enforce safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure employee well-being.

  • Collaborate with customer service teams to ensure on-time deliveries and address any transportation-related customer concerns.

  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation and implement initiatives to enhance transportation efficiency.

  • Develop and implement contingency plans for emergency situations, ensuring swift response and recovery.

  • Stay updated on transportation technology trends and implement innovative solutions to improve operational effectiveness.

  • Implement eco-friendly practices and initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of transportation operations.

  • Prepare regular reports on transportation performance, cost analysis, and operational insights for management review.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and transportation regulations set by government agencies and relevant authorities.

Ideal Candidate:

  • CPC qualification
  • 2 years of Planning Experience
  • 2 years of Management Experience
  • ADR experience (not required)
  • Multi-System Usage
  • Client Management
  • Understanding of Transport and Logistics movements
  • B2C - Customer facing
  • Large industry knowledge
