Transport Planning Consultant - Birmingham
Salary: £33,000 - £40,000 | Permanent, Full-time
I'm currently working with a well-established, industry-leading transport and highways consultancy seeking a Transport Planning Consultant to join their Birmingham office. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of UK-based projects, including S278/38 highways schemes, drainage, and environmental planning.
The Role:
As a Transport Planning Consultant, you'll be responsible for preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans, coordinating surveys, and undertaking junction capacity assessments using ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG. You'll liaise directly with clients, contractors, and authorities, supporting projects from feasibility through to implementation. There will also be opportunities to assist with report writing, presentations, and project management.
About You:
- Degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with UK Transport Planning standards and processes
- Competent in Microsoft Office and confident with numerical analysis
- Practical experience with ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG; AutoCAD experience is desirable
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and able to manage your workload independently
