We're looking for a General Manager to join our National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) contract.

Location: This role covers our depots from Lutterworth through to the West Midlands so can be flexible, possible base locations can be Lutterworth, Worcester or Gloucester.

Company car or cash allowance provided for travel

Contract: Permanent- full time, part time/ flexible hours available if desired, just let us know and we'll do our best to support you

Responsibilities

Kier Utilities brings the built environment to life, keeping people and business connected.

In this role, you will be working on our National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) contract, where we work on maintaining the client electricity distribution network across the chosen area.

As General Manager, you will report to the Regional Director and will be accountable for the operational, finance, safety and delivery performance for the East & West Midlands regions of the NGED contract (Lutterworth through to Gloucester). You will use your experience and leadership to create a culture that leads by example for both Kier and the Client.

Your key responsibilities will include:


  • Implement the regional and business strategy, with related policies including SHEA and Risk Management to fulfil the required operational and commercial objectives, on time and to the required quality whilst maximising margin and customer satisfaction
  • To provide regular, accurate, consolidated reports and forecasts for your regions on finance, operational performance, capability & capacity and compliance
  • Use the reporting tools required to help build future profitable pipelines of work and safely maximise market share
Who are we looking for?

This role of General Manager is great for you if you hold:

  • Experience of leading at a senior level within the utility industry
  • A Full Driving Licence to travel across the region you cover
  • Knowledge of NRSWA
  • Excellent communication, management, and organisational skills
