Kier Utilities are looking to recruit a Supervisor. This role will be from a local office and will be mainly a site based role. Working with a Site Manager under the Delivery Manager the Site Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day management of delivery teams and sub-contractors on site. The role will require the effective utilisation of time and resources to meet delivery programmes. The Site Team Leader will be expected to carry out the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, quality and performance standards and ensuring all work meets required water industry regulations and AW approved standards.



Responsibilities:

  • General site supervision, including completion of records as required, this includes the day-to-day organising of labour.
  • Site Administration (including Site Record Sheets, Site Diary, Site Incident Reports, Waste Transfer Notes, Statutory Inspections, Labour, Plant and Material records)
  • Undertaking Safety inspections and rectifying issues in correspondence with the Company's procedures
  • Assisting with the assembly of documentation for projects - from CDM Construction Phase Plans to basic RAMS.
  • Organising plant and materials.
  • Organising labour when required to complete project tasks.
  • Monitor performance & quality of supply chain sub-contractors.
  • Corresponding with Client/Consultant/The Public and other colleagues to monitor progress and inform of problems.
  • Liaise with Project Engineers and Delivery Managers regarding the construction interface on projects.
  • Ensure any variations to contract / scope is identified and passed to the Delivery Manager / Project Engineer.
  • Liaise with operations during site operations to ensure activities comply with requirements and do not cause quality, H&S or equipment issues on site.
  • Liaise with OMC and other AW providers (e.g. telemetry, data enrichment teams) to resource schedule Operational and other AW resources and support
  • Maximise utilisation of labour, plant & resources to ensure efficiency in completing the projects
  • Assist with estimates as required.
  • Ensure that costs are controlled and kept on track of budget
  • Record required data for Key Performance Indicators (KPI's). Take action to ensure required standards are met and performance continuously improved.
  • Be proactive in recording Non-conformances. Take action as required to address Non-conformance.
  • Ensure work is carried out right first time.
  • Recognise and contribute to the processes that form the Business Management System.
  • Foster good employee relations, ensuring that Delivery Team members have adequate training and are developed to make their best contribution.
  • Ensure effective people management practices are carried out across the area in line with Company procedure (team brief, tool box talks, etc).
  • Complete and comply with all operational site H&S requirements to ensure safe working practices
  • Responsible for all Health and Safety issues on site, completion of paperwork, including weekly safety & environmental inspections, tool-box talks, site-specific risk assessments & method statements.
  • Ensure Personal H&S & MTRA are completed and valid
  • Ensure near misses are recorded through Good catch
  • Carry out ad hoc risk assessment as necessary
  • Ensure your behavioural safety and subcontractor procurement aligns with AW H&S principles.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and Experience in the water industry
  • IT Skills sufficient to use mobile field devices
  • To have a certificate in Site Safety Management (or attended 5 day course)
  • To hold relevant CSCS card
  • 5 years experience in M&E/construction industry
  • Commercial awareness
  • Be able to work to a budget and programme
  • Must be able to Drive
  • Have reasonable written and numerical skills
  • Good communicator able to communicate detailed data to a non-data literate audience and be able to pass on skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage/prioritise workloads
  • Ability to adapt and challenge
  • To be a good self-organiser and organiser of others
  • To be assertive, diplomatic and patient
