Location: Birmingham - with a degree of remote working available, with travel to other offices and sites when required
Contract: Permanent, Fulltime
Salary: £46K-53K
Responsibilities
As a Value Added Engineering (VAE) Team Leader, you'll be working within the Highways team directly responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the VAE Team, with line management responsibility for Senior Engineers and other roles within VAE as required, setting and prioritising workloads, governing the management of all VAE team members performance, setting outcome driven objectives, as well as increasing the teams capabilities to provide Professional Consultancy Services with a defined and consistent project management approach, ensuring that the project needs of the business are being met and delivered.
Your day to day will include:
- To be responsible for VAE oversight in collaboration with the HoPTS to ensure the VAE Team meets its requirements through monitoring and reviewing results for 'On-Time-In-Full' (OTIF) delivery
- To be responsible for populating and maintaining the Highways England Forward Programme when required by the client, ensuring the needs of the network are identified and captured ready for developing feasibility studies and reports to justify the requirements of renewing Technology Assets
- To supports the HoPTS in preparing an annual personal development plan for the Professional Services Team with a VAE focus, to ensure training needs are appropriately identified, and a mutually agreed training plan for individual staff members is progressed
This role of Value Added Engineering (VAE) Team Leader is great for you if you:
- Possess a relevant experience, and/or tertiary qualification in any of the following; Information Systems, Accounting, Finance or equivalent
- Knowledge of Highways England Technology Assets, Infrastructure, and their applications against the services Kier Highways/Strategic Highways supplies
- Able to tailor communication to specific audience, particularly communicating complex concepts in an unambiguous way for non- technical audiences
